Somewhere along the way we were taught not to ask for help. Help is viewed as a sign of weakness. But what happens when you ask for help? 1. Things become easier and more manageable. This isn’t due to the task itself being easier but more so the additional support relieves pressure, allowing you to think more clearly and be able to focus.
2.You begin to build a support team. You no longer stand alone on an island. You learn that there are people out there who truly are invested in your success and they will do what they can to prevent you from failing.
3. You begin to dream bigger. With knowing you have a support team to catch you if you fall, dreaming big is no longer scary. The fear of failure is minimized. 4. You feel empowered. Here we are taking a concept we believed to be a negative and become stronger from it. You feel as though you can conquer the world. You begin to just act instead of feeling the need to explain yourself.
5. Your dreams begin to become your reality. When you don’t ask for help, your dreams are only dreams, they feel so far off and at times unreachable. Having confidence, support, and bigger dreams will change the course of your entire life and you will begin to create a life you never imagined to be a reality.
Asking for help is NOT weakness (Read that again). Asking for help shows a strength you forgot you had. Being able to stand on your own does not mean having to stand alone. Being able to stand on your own means learning to ask for help on the days your legs get weak.
Never stop asking for help and never let the people who are suppose to help you ignore you. And if your being asked to help someone listen. Asking for help is very humbling and if they are asking it’s because they truly need it.
Thank you to my support, thank you to all of the people who jumped in as soon as my legs got weak and encouraged me to stand back up. Thank you to every person who has been though hell with me to learn there is a heaven on the other side. I will never be more grateful to be forced into asking for the uncomfortable, I am stronger, I dream bigger, and I now know I am unstoppable.
